This book is a result of our research into the world of Cause and Effect. It became clear to us that many of the clients that came for help were at the effect of a cause, namely they had someone or something to blame. At the root of it was always “Why.’ It was in the examination of the linguistics and exploration of the scope of the semantics of the word WHY that unfolded its philosophical consequences. Out of this we developed the seminar known as The Blame Frame.

As we ask “why” we live in its milieu and above all in its consequences. The result is that we automatically conclude that it is natural and normal. The findings of this work are that it is NOT. It was encapsulated in a respectful, robust and forthright statement in a speech by Virgina Satir that: “Why is a mind fucking question.” Such is our unconscious facile utility of why that we have no conscious awareness that when we put “Why” to another person, we are actually “mind fucking” them.
